The 13 Best BOSTON Tribute Bands in 2026

BOSTON sold more than 75 million records on the strength of a sound nobody else could make: a wall of harmony guitars, Brad Delp’s impossible high harmonies, and songs like More Than a Feeling, Peace of Mind, Foreplay/Long Time, Don’t Look Back and Amanda that still own classic rock radio. It’s also one of the hardest catalogs in rock to play live, which is why most BOSTON tributes fall short and the good ones are worth a drive.

Full disclosure up front: the band at #1 is mine. I was BOSTON’s guitarist and co-lead vocalist on the 2012 and 2014 North American tours, and I’ve run ProTributeBands since 2011, so I’ve heard nearly every act on this page and I know what the parts are supposed to sound like. I’ve tried to be fair to everyone else.

The rest of the order weighs how much each band is touring right now, how strong the current footage is, and how faithfully they handle the harmony guitars and the Delp-range vocal. One long-running act I’d written off as retired is back on the calendar, and the unaffiliated BOSTYX now gets its own entry instead of a footnote.

#1 – David Victor: The Hits of BOSTON

David Victor: The Hits of BOSTON is led by someone who was actually in BOSTON, and that’s hard to argue with. BOSTON found me through a 2008 YouTube clip of me singing Smokin’ with the Los Angeles tribute band of the same name, and brought me into BOSTON as guitarist and co-lead vocalist for the 2012 and 2014 North American and Canadian tours. On those tours I sang Peace of Mind, More Than a Feeling and the 1986 #1 single Amanda, and I sang lead on Heaven on Earth, the single from 2014’s Life, Love & Hope that went to #1 on the classic rock chart that year.

The night I’ll never top: May 2013, BOSTON’s first show in the city of Boston in more than 20 years, opening the Boston Strong benefit for the Marathon bombing victims. The set opened with the Star Spangled Banner and the whole arena on its feet, and I closed the night singing Come Together on stage with Aerosmith and Steven Tyler.

The current Hits of BOSTON lineup: touring members of ASIA and Lou Gramm’s band, and a lot less hair than the 2014 version.

The band started in 2011 between BOSTON tours as a way to keep the chops up, and for a while ran as Bostyx, playing BOSTON and Styx together (the 2018 lineup was Glenn Jost, Roby Duros, Manny Aguirrie, Victor Bender and me). Today it’s squarely a BOSTON show, with a few of my own originals when the room wants them. The 2025 lineup: Jonathan Gilcrest on keys, guitar and vocals (ASIA, Lou Gramm), Mark Coles on guitar and vocals (Yellow Brick Road, ASIA), John Menniti on bass and vocals, and Michael Brandon on drums (Tramp, Seventh Son, Bostyx), who I’ve been playing with since 1989.

The set goes past the radio hits into A Man I’ll Never Be, Hitch a Ride and the deeper album cuts fans ask for, and the harmony guitar parts are played, not sampled. The video at the top is the newest one: the full symphonic show with Orchestra Kentucky from September 2025, which is the thing I’m proudest of right now.

That’s More Than a Feeling with a full orchestra. The symphony version is bookable as its own show: strings, brass and woodwinds on top of the rock band, built for PACs and concert halls that want something their subscribers haven’t seen. Foreplay/Long Time with an orchestra behind it is a different animal.

For contrast, the clip above is Peace of Mind from the 2014 club version of the band, when it was still billed as The Hits of Boston & More. Same vocal parts, smaller stage. Buyers who’ve had us tend to say the same thing, which is why I’ll let two of them say it instead of me.

Before all of this I was a Bay Area kid who picked up a guitar at 16, put out Proof Through the Night after a computer science degree, and ran the original band Velocity through the late 90s, with Pat Torpey of Mr. Big on the Impact album. In LA I played in Smokin’ and in Exile Social Club with Chuck Wright of Quiet Riot and Jason Hook of Five Finger Death Punch. I still front Supergroup SF, Rockin’ America and Platinum Rockstars when the BOSTON calendar allows.

#2 – Don’t Look Back: The Boston Experience

Don’t Look Back is a full 1970s BOSTON concert recreation, character members included, with the costumes, the stage look and the whole arena-era feel. They market themselves hard and tour steadily, and the show is built for people who want the visual side of a BOSTON concert as much as the music.

Roy Cathey, Dwain Miller, Scott Connor and Rick Hunter are the names on their Facebook page, and Ticketmaster reviews keep saying the same thing: the singer kills it and they sound like the record. They’re a true touring act with a live show calendar on their site, Spire Center and City Winery dates, and a Mentor, Ohio concert-series feature to their name. Video lives on their own site.

#3 – Third Stage: A Tribute to Boston

Third Stage has been at it in Washington state since 2013 and is the Pacific Northwest’s BOSTON band. The website has a retro time-machine date display, the members use stage names that riff on the originals (Dad Brelp on lead vocals and guitar, Schom Tolz II on lead guitar, Hib Sashian on drums, TKP on keys, Shan Freehan on bass), and the calendar stays full across the Pacific Northwest, including casino rooms like Tulalip.

The Foreplay/Long Time above, shot in 2023, is the test I’d apply to any BOSTON band, and they pass it. Organ, harmony guitars and the vocal stack all present.

#4 – Rock N Roll Band: The Music of Boston

Rock N Roll Band’s stated goal is to be good enough to play for the man himself, BOSTON’s band leader, and they take the engineering seriously: original Rockman gear, every note played live, no backing tracks. Their Facebook group’s tagline is a string of BOSTON puns, and they book through Neal Shelton Entertainment and TSE Entertainment.

Their own site has had certificate problems, so book through the agencies. The 2022 full-show clip above is the best look at what they do.

#5 – BOSTYX: The Ultimate Boston and Styx Tribute

First, the disambiguation: the original Bostyx was my band, playing BOSTON and Styx together for several years, and it became The Hits of BOSTON at the top of this page. The BOSTYX that tours today is a separate Northeast act with no connection to me. That’s not a complaint. They’re good, they’re busy, and they’ve earned a real entry here instead of a footnote.

They play clubs, theaters and casinos across the Northeast, More Than a Feeling to Renegade, with Palace Theatre in Manchester, New Hampshire and Soundcheck Studios on the calendar and fresh fan video from Bensalem, Pennsylvania in the summer of 2026. The February 2026 concert above is a full set.

#6 – Long Time: A Tribute to Boston

I had Long Time filed under retired after a 2023 farewell show, and I was wrong. Northern California’s only BOSTON tribute is back on the calendar, with a Crystal Bay Club date at Lake Tahoe listed and the site and Facebook page live again. Formed in 2008, which made them the longest-running dedicated BOSTON tribute I know of.

Their pitch is the celestial guitar sounds, the heavenly harmony vocals and the organ solos, and the Geyser Peak winery set above (More Than a Feeling, Peace of Mind) shows they can deliver all three outdoors. For a Bay Area or Sacramento booking, they’re the obvious local call.

#7 – Amanda: Boston Tribute Band

Amanda is a Clearwater, Florida BOSTON tribute formed in 2022, which makes it the newest band on this page and the only dedicated BOSTON act in the Southeast. They play the Tampa Bay circuit, including the OCC Roadhouse concert series, and their videos from 2023 (Amanda and Rock & Roll Band above) are clean, well-mixed and sung in the right key.

Florida buyers looking for BOSTON have exactly one specialist to call, and this is it.

#8 – Smokin’: A Tribute to Boston and More (Colorado)

Two bands have used this name. The Los Angeles Smokin’ I played with around 1999 is the one BOSTON saw on YouTube, and it’s long gone. The Colorado Smokin’ is very much alive: a six-piece that plays BOSTON alongside Kansas, Journey, ELO, Uriah Heep and REO Speedwagon, with Nissi’s in Lafayette, Bourbon Brothers in Colorado Springs and a ticketed run at The Villages in Florida on the books into 2026.

Not a pure BOSTON show, which is why they sit here rather than higher, but if you want a full night of 70s arena rock with BOSTON as the spine, this is the Rocky Mountain answer. The Nissi’s clip above is from 2025.

#9 – 4 Peace of Mind (Foreigner and Boston Tribute)

4 Peace of Mind is a six-member South Jersey band that splits the night between Foreigner and BOSTON, and they play real rooms: the Summer Stage at Mount Airy Casino has them booked for September 2026, with tickets on AXS and Vivid Seats. The 2019 Arsenal footage above is the BOSTON half.

Dual tributes make sense for buyers who want a broader 70s and 80s anthem night, and this is the best-organized one in the mid-Atlantic. Not a strict BOSTON act, which the ranking reflects.

#10 – Dallas Boston Xperience (DBX)

DBX is the Dallas area’s dedicated BOSTON tribute, professional players working the North Texas winery and concert-series circuit: Barnhill Vineyards in Anna on September 19, 2026, Wild Stallion Vineyards, Main Street Crossing in Tomball, and the Grapevine Main fall series. Rock and Roll Band and Don’t Look Back are the crowd-pleasers in the set.

Their website and Facebook page are the places to hear them. For a Texas booking they remain the specialist.

#11 – More Than A Feeling (Ohio)

More Than A Feeling is a Harrod, Ohio band booked through Soundskape Entertainment, pitched as revisiting BOSTON’s heavily produced party anthems with the dense guitar textures and rich vocal harmonies intact. They show up on Eventbrite as half of a Foreigner and Boston tribute night, which is how a lot of regional BOSTON bands get their theater dates.

One thing to know: there’s a second, unrelated MTAF in Houston, Texas using the same name. The Ohio band is the one with the agency listing.

#12 – NY to Boston (Long Island, New York)

NY to Boston is a Long Island double bill: the same musicians play a Steve Miller Band set as Midnight Toker (Swingtown, The Joker, Fly Like an Eagle, Take the Money and Run), then switch singers and play BOSTON (More Than a Feeling, Peace of Mind). They’ve played Daryl’s House Club and keep a Bay Shore and Long Island schedule running through 2026, and there’s new Foreplay/Long Time footage from July 2026 on the same channel as the clip above.

Confusing name, solid band, and the right call for a Long Island or Hudson Valley room that wants two classic rock catalogs in one night.

#13 – Lexington Lab Band (Lexington, Kentucky)

Lexington Lab Band doesn’t tour, which is why it’s last, and it belongs on the page anyway because their BOSTON covers are some of the most accurate recordings of these songs anyone has made. Michael Vandemark founded the project around 2012, and the method is unusual: musicians rehearse separately for six weeks, then meet for one rehearsal and one filmed take.

The core lineup is Vandemark on guitars, bass, keys and vocals, Derrick Breaux on vocals and guitars, Dale Adams on guitars, Rob Pottorf on keys, guitars and vocals, and Ryan McQuerry on drums, with more than 60 players rotating through over the years. Around 130,000 YouTube subscribers and some videos past 18 million views. The Peace of Mind above is the one to study if you’re a musician trying to learn these parts.

Choosing the Right BOSTON Show for Your Event
