BOHEMIAN QUEEN Tribute Band waited patiently for a year and a half to present their very first live show to a live audience. In January 2020, they were primed and ready to hit the road and fill every theater with the iconic music of Queen. BUT, the pandemic of 2020 crippled the United States and brought an end to live entertainment for them until until June 6, 2021.
One Lucky Audience in Sunbury, Pennsylvania
Months before, the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way approached David Victor Presents about having BOHEMIAN QUEEN as one of about 8 bands for their LIVE UNITED LIVE fundraiser that would address and benefit Youth Mental Health. Joanne Sloneem of the GSVUW pulled together the successful 2-day event held at Spyglass Ridge Winery.
Help in Setting it all Up
The event was pulled together by Joanne through a local agency, and included a classic rock “who’s who”, certainly a tremendous bang for the buck for the fortunate audience.
BOHEMIAN QUEEN performed on the 2nd day of the event, and the audience, who also waited a year and a half for live entertainment to return, sang along to every song.
Paulie Z, who performs as Freddy Mercury, drew the audience into singing with him on songs like Radio Ga Ga, Ay-OH, Another One Bites the Dust and We Will Rock You.
With the harmonies and backup vocals from Glenn Jost, Victor Bender, Aaron Samson and Steve Zukowsky, every song was a reminder how the music of Queen rules the Rock ‘n Roll World.
A Long But Energizing Weekend for BOHEMIAN QUEEN
The fellas in BOHEMIAN QUEEN crossed the United States from Los Angeles to PA to perform at this fundraising benefit. It was a long day of travel from LA to Baltimore, then a few hours more by van to Sunbury.
The day of the show was a full day of soundcheck, meeting everyone involved, checking in with buddies from other bands, changing in and out of stage clothing, performing the show, cooling down in the air conditioned trailer, then enjoying Firehouse and Winger to end the evening.
Unfortunately, Pennsylvania was experiencing unusually hot temperatures in the upper 90’s for the weekend, but the fellas played a cool show and everyone loved it.
The return day on Monday was a very long 17-hour trip back to LA starting with a couple hours return to Baltimore airport and a long layover in Las Vegas. But, that’s what they do, that’s what they love, and they are ready to do it again July 4 in Cincinnati Ohio for a private event for the International Moose Convention. This one is indoors, so we are all hoping the air conditioning is working at the Duke Energy Center.
After a couple private events in July and August, BOHEMIAN QUEEN would love to ROCK YOU in 2021 in Matthews NC September 5, Pella IA on September 10, Martin TN on September 11 and El Cajon CA on October 7.
Be sure you are signed up on the David Victor Presents website to receive show updates.
Bye-Bye for now from your roving rock ‘n roll reporter Lily Horst, and the fellas of BOHEMIAN QUEEN.
